Job Title: Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center High School Foundations Summer Internship Program

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center High School Foundations Summer Internship Program offers a robust summer experience combining paid work, professional development, mentoring, and experiential learning. Our goal is to ignite a lasting interest in healthcare careers while providing opportunities to practice essential workplace skills.
Program Highlights:
- Paid Internship: This is a paid program.
- Work Experience: Interns will work in 2-3 different host departments across the institution through a rotational internship model. This provides a broad perspective of the diverse roles and skills involved in patient care and hospital operations.
- Professional Development: A dedicated curriculum helps develop critical competencies, including:

- Work Ethic
- Initiative
- Mentoring & Networking: As part of a cohort, interns will participate in workshops for personal and professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
- Full-time Commitment: The program requires a 7-week full-time commitment.

- Perform a variety of tasks in different departments.
- Gain an increased understanding of how a healthcare organization operates.
- Actively participate in workshops and development sessions.
- Ask questions, look for opportunities to contribute to a team, and experience a professional working environment.

Locations:
- Primary Location: Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, New Hampshire.
- Additional opportunities may be available at other Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center locations, but these will require weekly travel to the Lebanon, NH location.
Qualifications:
- Academic: Must have completed your sophomore year of high school.
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old by the first day of the internship (June 22, 2026).
- Availability: Must be available to commit to the full 7-week program.
- Logistics: You must arrange your own housing and transportation.
- Employment Eligibility: Eligible for employment in the United States.
- Screening: Successfully complete the DH pre-employment screening process, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
