MBA Summer Intern, Investment Team

Artisan Partners is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented MBA candidate with strong analytical and technical abilities to actively assist our investment teams. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of fundamental equity research and contribute directly to the evaluation of potential investments.

This will be a paid internship program, running for approximately 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.

Location: New York, NY | San Francisco, CA | Milwaukee, WI

Responsibilities:
The MBA Summer Intern will be an integral part of our investment teams, undertaking key responsibilities that include:

  • Conducting in-depth fundamental analysis to evaluate potential investments, including thorough examination of a firm’s business model, financial health, and strategic positioning.
  • Assessing a company’s competitiveness within its industry, identifying key differentiators, and understanding the competitive landscape.
  • Analyzing long-term secular trends impacting various industries to identify sustainable growth drivers and potential disruptors.
  • Partnering closely with multiple experienced investment professionals to conduct primary research, which may involve expert interviews, industry surveys, site visits, and other investigative methods to gather unique insights.
  • Contributing to investment discussions and presenting findings to team members in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program (expected graduation in 2027) with a strong academic record.
  • A profound understanding of and keen interest in cash flow modeling and financial statement analysis.
  • A high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and the proven ability to effectively set priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Capacity for differentiated thinking, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and the ability to generate original and insightful perspectives on investment opportunities.
  • Unwavering commitment to the highest personal and professional integrity and ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, while also being capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and statistical ability, essential for rigorous financial analysis and data interpretation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and presentation.

Salary:
The compensation for this internship is $14,000 per month.

Specific placement within this compensation structure will be determined by an individual’s geographic location (NY, SF, or Milwaukee), as well as relevant experience and skills directly applicable to the role. Base salary represents only one component of our total compensation package. Interns may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon a holistic evaluation of Firm and individual performance during the internship period.
