About the Internship:

Embark on an immersive journey behind the scenes with Sweetwater’s expert Luthiers through our Guitar Repair and Install Internship. This unparalleled opportunity provides firsthand experience with Sweetwater’s renowned guitar repair, installation, and comprehensive 55-point Inspection process. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the day-to-day operations that set the industry’s leading online guitar retailer apart from the competition, contributing directly to the excellence of our musical instrument services.

What You’ll Experience & Learn:

• Attend dedicated training sessions designed to impart both basic and advanced guitar setup and repair skills.
• Apply your developing expertise by evaluating and repairing Sweetwater inventory, working on a diverse range of acoustic and electric guitars.
• Master a wide array of repair techniques, including setups, electronics troubleshooting, fretwork, and various minor and advanced repairs.
• Become proficient in understanding the intricate details of guitar construction and maintenance, equipping you with valuable knowledge and skills for a career in lutherie or instrument care.

Key Qualifications:

• A solid knowledge of guitars and an enthusiastic willingness to embrace and learn new skills.
• Demonstrated ability in accurately tracking data using various databases and spreadsheets.
• Possess strong attention to detail and exceptional organization skills.
• Commitment to ensuring strong validity when entering data, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• A natural curiosity to ask questions and a proactive approach to learning new techniques and skills.
• 1 or more years of guitar or bass experience desired, encompassing both playing and maintenance.

• Applicants must be of current Junior/Senior academic standing to be considered for this internship.
• Depending on enrollment and internship openings, an interview and skills test may be implemented as part of the selection process.
