About the Internship

As a Bridge Intern, you will work alongside a diverse team of designers, engineers, and project managers, contributing to a variety of bridge projects from concept to final design. Our sophisticated mentoring and career path plan has a proven track record of highly developing our staff.

Key Responsibilities

As a Bridge Intern, you will actively support bridge design projects and gain hands-on experience by:

  • Assisting assigned project teams with the development of bridge scoping reports.
  • Performing bridge hydraulic design for waterway structures.
  • Designing key components of bridges, including the substructure, superstructure, and riding surface.
  • Supporting bridge design projects by assisting with hydraulic modeling, site assessments, and the development of engineering reports.
  • Working with a variety of industry tools to create 3D models and project deliverables, including: MicroStation/GEOPAK, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, OpenBridge, Merlin Dash, and QuickBridge.
  • Gaining practical experience across a range of project types, such as bridge replacements and rehabilitations, urban and rural roadway improvements, and major interstate upgrades.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction, or Structural Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field with a focus on civil infrastructure.
  • Possess reliable transportation to and from the office or local project sites.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic.
  • Open to new experiences and challenges.
