Your Opportunity: Summer 2027 Accounting Intern
This immersive internship provides an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the dynamic world of public accounting. You will delve into the critical functions of our Tax and Audit departments, with the flexibility to express your preference for experience desired and based on available work. Furthermore, you’ll have the option to work from our vibrant Bradenton or Sarasota office locations, allowing you to choose the environment that best suits you.
What You’ll Experience and Learn:
As a Summer 2027 Accounting Intern, you will actively contribute to client engagements and develop foundational skills essential for a successful career in accounting. Your responsibilities will include:
In the Tax Department, you will:
- Provide essential assistance in preparing detailed work papers, trial balances, and depreciation schedules.
- Execute accurate data entry for various computer applications and draft engagement correspondence.
- Support professional staff by gathering crucial data for tax return preparation.
- Assist in maintaining our comprehensive tax library and organized client tax and auditing files.
In the Audit Department, you will:
- Perform substantive auditing procedures in assigned areas, gaining practical insight into the audit process.
- Develop a clear understanding of the work to be performed and its overarching purpose.
- Prepare meticulous working papers that adequately document tests performed and procedures followed to substantiate conclusions reached.
- Remain alert to the proper and consistent application of accounting principles throughout audit procedures.
- Identify and thoughtfully document control deficiencies or other matters that warrant the attention of management.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking ambitious and detail-oriented individuals who are ready to make a tangible impact. To excel in this internship, you should possess:
- Current enrollment as a student in an accredited college or university, with a dedicated major in Accounting.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, crucial for effective collaboration.
- A proven ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a valuable team member.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- An enthusiastic ability and willingness to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues.
- A high degree of discretion and integrity when dealing with confidential information.
