What You’ll Do

Embark on a journey of significant professional growth and make a tangible impact:

  • Receive invaluable technical training, mentorship, and personalized coaching from our world-class technologists and seasoned technical managers.
  • Deepen your technical expertise within your chosen engineering discipline while actively expanding your skillset into new, cutting-edge areas.
  • Engage in technically challenging assignments within the dynamic power generation industry, focusing on critical areas such as:
    • Systems Engineering
    • Advanced Analysis
    • Innovative Design
    • Quality Assurance
    • Reliability Engineering
    • Digital Solutions
    • Integration & Test Processes
  • Perform crucial design and analysis work for our diverse product lines, including advanced steam turbines, gas turbines, robust gas engines, and powerful generators.
  • Develop and implement new design concepts and critical design improvements, collaborating closely with our drafting teams to create or update detailed drawings.
  • Partner with our manufacturing teams to collaboratively solve complex production challenges inherent in creating these sophisticated parts.

Program Details

  • Potential Locations: Greenville, South Carolina; Schenectady, New York; Atlanta, Georgia
  • Employment Dates: September – December 2026 (Fall Semester)

What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications)

We are looking for bright, driven individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program within an eligible engineering discipline, with one to two semesters remaining prior to graduation.
  • Eligible majors include: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Possess the legal ability to work in the United States for an unlimited duration without requiring sponsorship.

  • Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.00/hr – $34.00/hr, commensurate with your years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
  • Relocation Assistance: Eligible Co-op/Interns whose permanent address is greater than 50 miles from the work location will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred for initial travel to work and return travel upon assignment completion.
  • Housing Allowance: Eligible Co-op/Interns whose permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location will receive a weekly housing allowance to help offset living expenses.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Access 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services to support your well-being.
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP): Eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 90 days of accumulated service, subject to plan requirements.
