Job Description: Studio Operations Intern
Job Title: Studio Operations Intern
Program: NextGen Internship Program
Location: In-person at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, CA.
Role Summary:
The Studio Operations Intern will join an integral team for a 10-week paid internship, gaining valuable real-world experience. The intern will contribute to day-to-day operations, assist on special projects, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to gain exposure to the inner workings of the company. This role is designed to enhance the intern’s learning journey and development within a thriving, forward-thinking company.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
• Sound Engineer Management: Research and vet available sound engineers by reviewing their experience, confirming equipment familiarity, and conducting basic background checks. Develop a searchable database of qualified engineers for studio bookings.
• Archival Documentation: Document the historic significance of United Recording by cataloging photos, notable albums recorded, and archival materials. Synthesize this information into organized, searchable content to support marketing, social media, and client-facing materials.
• Workflow & Contract Development: Assist Operations and Legal in reviewing the current booking workflow and help develop standard contract templates. The goal is to simplify rentals under defined criteria, thereby reducing turnaround time for smaller or repeat bookings.
• Process Streamlining: Support efforts to streamline the studio rental process by gathering resources, identifying workflow bottlenecks, and creating reference materials to help improve client onboarding and utilization of the space.
• Client Support: Serve as an on-site support presence for clients, including Netflix clients, by providing assistance, answering questions, and ensuring a positive guest experience.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas to enhance department goals.
• Final Presentation: Complete a final Summer Showcase presentation outlining learned experiences and projects during the internship, to be presented to fellow interns and team members.
• Ad Hoc Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need (Requirements):
• Eligibility: Applicants must have recently completed (within the last 2 years) or be currently enrolled in an applicable college-level or trade school program.

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of or hands-on experience with recording equipment and studio environments.
• Prior experience working with clients or supporting customer-facing operations, preferably within the music or entertainment industry.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to document information, maintain databases, and manage multiple workstreams.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, engineers, and internal teams.
• A demonstrated interest in studio operations, music production, or entertainment facilities management.
