Job Description
The job is for a 2026 Production Technician Internship with BASF, located at their Freeport site: 602 Copper Road, Freeport, TX 77541.
Program Summary & Role:
This internship program is designed for highly motivated Process Technology (PTEC) students, recent PTEC graduates, or honorably discharged military veterans with relevant mechanical/technical training. The primary goal is to provide interns with valuable, hands-on experience. Interns will leverage their academic or technical background to complete various operator activities, thereby developing both their technical and professional skills. A key aspect of the role involves working a shift schedule while shadowing a BASF Production Technician. Successful candidates will be employed through a 3rd party contractor for the duration of the internship. A significant benefit is the potential for consideration for upcoming open full-time positions at the site upon successful completion of the internship.
Requirements for Candidates:
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Have earned a Process Technology associate’s degree, *or• be a current PTEC student in their last semester of a PTEC program, *or• be an honorably discharged military veteran with applicable mechanical/technical training.
• Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 for academic achievement, *or• provide a letter of recommendation from a Professor (military veterans require an Honorable Discharge).
• Be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions on a full-time basis.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Be able to pass the BASF pre-employment assessment.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Possess an outstanding work ethic.
