Job Description: Manufacturing Intern (Summer Internship Program)
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Manufacturing Intern to join the team for a summer internship program. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience in various critical aspects of manufacturing operations, offering valuable exposure to a dynamic manufacturing environment and an excellent platform for professional development.
Major Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with day-to-day manufacturing operations under the direct guidance of experienced professionals.
• Actively participating in production and manufacturing activities to gain practical experience.
• Collaborating with safety, quality, and production teams to address concerns and/or opportunities for improvement.
• Working with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies within processes and suggesting enhancements.
• Strictly adhering to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
• Documenting and analyzing data related to production and quality metrics, efficiency, and overall performance.
• Engaging in various training sessions and workshops to expand knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, team growth, and leadership skills.
• Shadowing and learning problem-solving methods from diverse management roles or departments, including Production, Quality, Maintenance or Engineering, Environmental & Safety, or Human Resources, and performing directed hands-on learning activities.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the reporting supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in an Engineering, Business, or a Manufacturing-related field.
• Academic Background: Strong academic performance with relevant coursework in manufacturing processes, operations management, or related disciplines.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and hourly associates, demonstrating adaptability to fast-paced manufacturing operations.
• Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Travel: May be required to travel up to 10% per internship period.
• Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical ability to access all plant areas and lift up to 50lbs.
• Work Arrangement: This position is ineligible for hybrid work, implying it is a fully on-site role.
Compensation:
• The internship offers a competitive hourly rate of $30.00.
