Job Description: Safety Intern – Summer 2026
Georgia-Pacific is seeking Safety Interns for a 12-week summer program in 2026 at various nationwide locations. This internship is designed to offer interns meaningful real-world experience, exposing them to GP’s manufacturing processes and the diverse responsibilities of a Safety Leader within a manufacturing environment. The program includes career networking events and focused mentoring to prepare interns for a future career within GP’s safety team.

Responsibilities May Include Work In The Following Areas:
• Occupational safety
• Occupational health
• Industrial hygiene
• Fire safety / hazardous materials
• Process Safety
• Environmental safety
• Emergency preparedness
• Construction safety
What You Will Do:
During the internship, participants will:
• Interact with experienced EH&S professionals, connecting classroom knowledge to real-world manufacturing applications.
• Streamline safety processes and procedures.
• Participate in incident investigations, chemical monitoring, or safety inspections.
• Gain experience in safe work practices, emergency response, contributing to the vision of injury-free operations.
• Understand, develop, and apply Principle Based Management™.
The Koch Intern Program provides a hands-on experience, offering opportunities to tackle significant projects, solve problems, and take ownership of work. Beyond daily tasks, the program includes weekly learning sessions, location-specific programming, and professional development opportunities to foster individual growth and networking within the Koch family of companies.

• Hattiesburg, MS
• Huntsville, AL
• Port Hudson (Zachary), LA

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):
• Enrolled in a degree or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.).
• Ability to relocate per program requirements.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2027.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Interpersonal communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Access, and other Microsoft applications.
• Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
• Enrolled in an Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Safety Management, Emergency & Disaster Management, or related Engineering degree program.
