Network Planning Sales Engineer Intern (Summer 2026) | Astranis Space Technologies

The Tone:
This is an internship at Astranis Space Technologies, located in Northern California, USA. This role is crucial for optimizing the design and architecture of high throughput satellite networks, directly impacting the company’s ability to service its growing commercial contracts. Astranis is a 450-person organization with significant backing from top investors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Architecture: Perform pre-sales and post-sales network architecture and planning for high throughput satellite systems.
• Optimization: Optimize digital payload configurations, orbital slot selections, and frequency planning to enhance network performance.
• Coverage: Define user coverage areas through antenna system optimization and selection of optimal gateway locations.
• Configuration: Specify and configure user terminal selections and networking/modem equipment to meet customer needs.
• Engagement: Balance technical responsibilities with business and customer-facing interactions, providing high visibility and impact.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled at a four-year university with U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee status required, seeking a role in network planning and architecture.
• Experience: Strong ability to optimize complex systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running detailed trade studies. Exhibits a process-oriented mindset, constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things and anticipating needs from internal and external tools.
• Skills: Scripting language experience, preferably Python.
• Bonus: Knack for math. Ability to craft and deliver high quality presentations to potential partners, and succinctly answer challenging technical questions. Willingness to travel a bit.
