Job Description
This is an Internship/Co-op role for the Summer/Term 3 work term, located in New York, New York, USA. The position requires 40 hours per week and offers a pay rate between $21.75 – $27.00 USD per hour, with the actual base pay potentially varying based on candidate’s skills, experience, knowledge, geographic location, and business needs. Candidates are encouraged to discuss compensation directly with their recruiter.
The AMCB Summer Intern supports their specific Line of Business (LOB) in developing and executing work projects aligned with the Business’ goals and objectives, while embodying TD’s Shared Commitments and customer-focused culture.
This particular role is within Commercial Banking, which assists commercial customers—ranging from small businesses to multi-billion-dollar corporations, governments, and institutions—in managing funds, financing growth, and investing for the future by customizing products and services to suit their needs.
Specifically, the intern will be part of the Middle Market-Sponsor Backed Finance team. This team provides direct coverage to clients of the Commercial Bank and acts as the primary liaison for all TD Cowen & TD Securities Sponsor-led referrals to the TDBNA Commercial Bank. They are involved in the advisory and development of new, often large, visible, and complex Sponsor-led credit relationships, managing primary and secondary loan participations in the syndicated, Pro-Rata bank market, and providing strategic direction for new business development and client relationship growth.
The intern’s function is as a Sponsor Backed Finance Associate Intern, with key responsibilities including:
• Assisting in evaluating sponsor finance opportunities to understand the credit underwriting process.
• Engaging in sponsor-focused strategy exercises.
• Updating marketing materials as needed.
• Managing the deal tracker as opportunities progress through the diligence process.
• Attending sponsor meetings/calls as necessary.
This is an in-person internship opportunity in NYC, requiring interns to be in-office 4 days a week.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Pursuing a post-secondary degree in business-related disciplines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to take initiative and accountability.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must be work authorized in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
• Anticipated graduation between December 2026 – June 2027 is preferred.
Physical Requirements indicate continuous sedentary work, performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, sitting, concentrating for long periods, applying common sense, and reading/writing/comprehending instructions. Frequent standing and walking are also expected, with occasional domestic travel.
