Job Description

Job Title: Entry Level- Architectural / Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering (Buildings Group)

Location: Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO

Overview:
GBA’s Buildings Group is seeking entry-level engineers to join their team. The group serves two primary markets: Life Sciences and Mission Critical. Candidates can express interest in one, two, or several of these opportunities, and the recruitment team will assist in finding the best fit.

Buildings Group Markets:
Life Sciences: This group focuses on serving many of the world’s top bio-pharma companies. The team, composed of engineers and architects, is dedicated to the design of mechanical and electrical systems specifically within the bio-pharma industry.
Mission Critical: This group specializes in working with top Information Technology companies. The team designs mechanical and electrical systems for data centers, telecommunications facilities, and industrial facilities.

Integrated Team Approach:
Both groups offer the opportunity to work within a highly integrated team comprising architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Engineers:
• Design various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and compressed air.
• Prepare construction documents for these mechanical systems.
• Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Verify permitting and code requirements.
• Assist with facility evaluations and engineering studies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning tasks.

Electrical Engineers:
• Design electrical power systems, including switchboards, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for data center and telecommunications facilities.
• Conduct facility evaluations, engineering studies, and troubleshooting.
• Perform Arc Flash, coordination, and short circuit studies.
• Design interior and exterior lighting.
• Participate in commissioning activities.

Architectural Engineers:
• Architectural Engineers are highly valued in both the Life Sciences and Mission Critical groups. Individual interest and specific roles will be determined through conversation during the interview process.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or another related field from an accredited program.
GPA: A GPA of 2.7 or higher is strongly preferred.
Software Skills: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel software is preferred.
Experience: Prior internship and/or related experience is a plus.
Extracurricular Involvement: Involvement in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations is valued.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are required.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $26.50 per hour, depending on experience.
