About the job: Engineering Intern
PRIME AE is currently seeking an Engineering Intern to join their Kentucky and Indiana offices. This internship offers college students a valuable opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific field of study. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting, applying knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.
Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
• Contribute to the design of various projects.
• Perform analyses and apply problem-solving techniques to develop creative and innovative solutions.
• Execute a variety of complicated tasks requiring critical thinking.
• Participate in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state, and federal codes and standards relevant to the design and construction of project facilities.
• Learn and apply market-specific guidelines, as well as the practices and policies of the associated local discipline, divisions, and the firm.
• Assist field staff, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design during the construction phase.
Qualifications (What You’ll Bring):
• Education: Currently pursuing a BS degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• Learning Agility: A strong willingness to learn about engineering projects for local, state, and federal clients, specifically within municipal and industrial markets.
• Software Exposure: Familiarity with relevant systems and software, which may include AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, InRoads, KYPipe, SWMM, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, EPANET, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
