• Job Title: Social Editor Intern
• Job Type: Part-time, Internship
• Season: This internship is for the 2025–26 season.
• Location: This is an in-person internship based in Salt Lake County.
• Hours: The position is capped at 30 hours per week.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Mammoth is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Editor Intern to join their Content Team. The primary focus of this role is to edit engaging video and short-form content to significantly enhance the Utah Mammoth’s presence across various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will be proficient in editing content specifically for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, as well as producing long-form pieces for Mammoth+ and YouTube.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Editing Viral Short-Form Content: Create impactful short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts that captures the team’s essence and connects with the audience.
• Developing Creative Video Concepts: Generate fresh, innovative video ideas aligned with current social media trends to boost engagement across the Utah Mammoth’s digital platforms.
• Utilizing Diverse Assets: Craft weekly short- and long-form content using a variety of existing assets, including cinema camera footage, broadcast melts, and iPhone videos.
• Supporting Team Storytelling: Assist the Team Writer/Multimedia Reporter with weekly edits covering team stories and features.
• Collaboration with DIT Team: Work with the Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) team to ensure all shoot and game-night footage is correctly uploaded and logged onto the server.
• Assisting with Video Shooting: Provide support by shooting various types of video content as needed, which may include media availabilities, press conferences, and event recaps.
Competencies (Skills and Abilities):
• Required:
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Premiere Pro).
• Proven experience in crafting social content, particularly short-form, vertical content.
• Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit video content.
• A Plus (Preferred but not required):
• Experience with Sony Cinema Cameras (e.g., FX6, FX3).
• Ability to light press conferences and set up a mixer and press box.
Qualifications:
• Required:
• At least two years of experience in video editing and/or video production.
• A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous work. Applicants without previous work will not be considered.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to receive and apply feedback.
• Preferred:
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Interest in the NHL (National Hockey League).
• Ability to ice skate.
