About the Job: Project Controls Analyst

This position is for a Project Controls Analyst at WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The role offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and on-site presence.

The primary function of this position is to support projects and programs that are integral to WEC Energy Group’s $13.2 billion electric generation capital investment plan. This plan aims to drive economic growth and ensure energy reliability in Wisconsin, addressing an anticipated 20% increase in electric demand (equivalent to 1,800 megawatts) expected between 2025 and 2029.

This role is part of a job family, encompassing Associate Project Controls Analyst, Project Controls Analyst, and Senior Project Controls Analyst, with the specific level determined by the candidate’s experience.

Job Summary

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for the cost and/or schedule management of projects of moderate scope and complexity, providing essential support to field and department staff. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing analysis and developing recommendations to address schedule and/or cost performance issues.
• Creating complex project schedules.
• Preparing comprehensive cost reports.
• Analyzing data and preparing ad-hoc reporting for project management.

Job Responsibilities (Detailed)

Cost and/or Schedule Management: Oversees cost and/or schedule for projects of moderate scope and complexity, offering support to field and department staff. This involves performing analytical tasks and formulating recommendations to enhance schedule and/or cost performance.
Schedule Management:
• Develops and maintains resource-loaded project schedules.
• Identifies areas within schedules where mitigating actions are necessary.
• Conducts analysis and collaborates with stakeholders on schedule performance.
• Actively participates in schedule management discussions and provides recommendations to influence decision-making.
Cost Management:
• Analyzes reports and discusses cost performance with relevant stakeholders.
• Reviews actual costs and prepares forecasts for multiple projects.
• Identifies areas in cost performance where mitigating actions are necessary.
• Participates in cost management discussions and offers recommendations to influence decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

General Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management.

Qualifications by Job Level (Experience is a determining factor)

Associate Project Controls Analyst:
• 0-2 years of relevant project controls experience (internship/co-op experience may be included).
• 1+ years providing engineering, construction oversight, project controls, or project management support for projects (college coursework may be considered).
• 1+ years experience with various computer software; preferred experience includes Primavera P6, PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Work Manager (WMIS), Primavera Unifier, or Microsoft Access.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; however, 2 years of scheduling work experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
Project Controls Analyst:
• 2+ years of relevant project controls experience.
• 2+ years experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience includes PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access.
• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including leading projects and/or teams.
Senior Project Controls Analyst:
• 5+ years of relevant project controls experience.
• 5+ years experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience includes PowerPlan, PeopleSoft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access.
• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including leading projects and/or teams.

Additional Information

Pay Range:
• Minimum: $66,898.00
• Maximum: $132,708.94
• The stated pay range reflects the minimum and maximum at the time of posting and may be subject to future modifications. The starting salary within this range will be determined by several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and the specific business and organizational needs. It is generally not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
