About the Year Up United Job Training Program

Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to equip young adults with the skills and opportunities needed to launch a professional career.

Program Overview

  • Comprehensive Training: The program combines robust in-classroom skill development with practical experience.
  • Skill Development: Focuses on both technical and professional skills crucial for today’s job market.
  • Internships & Job Placement: Participants gain access to valuable internships and/or direct job placement services through our industry-leading talent placement firm, YUPRO Placement.
  • Personalized Support: Benefit from personalized coaching and mentorship throughout your journey.
  • Industry Connections: Potential internship opportunities with leading organizations in the National Capital Region area, such as Fannie Mae, Merck, Okta, and Salesforce, among many others.
  • Educational Stipend: Participants receive an educational stipend. During the internship phase, Year Up United students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week.

Are You Eligible?

You can apply to Year Up United if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are a high school graduate or GED recipient.
  • You are eligible to work in the U.S.
  • You are available Monday-Friday throughout the duration of the program.
  • You are highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills.
  • You have not obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You may be required to answer additional screening questions when applying.

Program Outcomes

Year Up United is committed to your success. 75% of Year Up United graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within 4 months of graduation. Employed graduates earn an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
