Web Development & Digital Marketing Intern | Kelso Industries
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Kelso Industries, located in Draper, UT (Hybrid Preferred). Kelso Industries is a 3,500+ employee organization spanning 30 companies that together deliver HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical solutions nationwide. This role is crucial for a website modernization initiative, focusing on evaluating AI-based website development tools and helping to build scalable, brand-aligned website solutions that enhance marketing, communications, recruiting, SEO, customer confidence, and cross-selling across the Kelso network.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Website Audit: Inventory and assess current operating company websites, evaluating UX/UI, mobile responsiveness, SEO, content quality, and brand alignment.
• AI Tool Evaluation: Research, compare, and prototype AI-based website builders and tools, documenting their strengths, limitations, and best-fit use cases.
• Website Development: Support the creation or refresh of landing pages, career pages, service pages, and leadership bios, including site structure, navigation, and basic SEO implementation.
• Content & Marketing Support: Evaluate messaging, identify opportunities to improve employer branding and cross-selling, and assist with content standards and AI-assisted copywriting.
• Strategic Recommendations: Develop and present final recommendations to leadership on centralized vs. decentralized website management, AI tool adoption strategy, and cost considerations with a roadmap.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student interested in AI tools, web design, digital marketing, communications, UX, SEO, content management, website administration, and business process improvement.
• Experience: Curious, analytical, and comfortable experimenting with new technology. Preferred background or interest in website design (Webflow, Wix, WordPress) or digital marketing/SEO.
• Skills: AI tool evaluation, web design principles, digital marketing, SEO, UX/UI principles, content creation, research, analysis, project management.
• Bonus: Basic HTML/CSS or site-building experience, analytics tools (Google Analytics), graphic design tools (Figma, Canva, Adobe).
