Job Title: Wastewater Intern

Position Purpose:
The Wastewater Intern will gain invaluable hands-on experience, working closely with Veolia’s skilled staff at various projects. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the daily operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment facility, fostering practical skills and knowledge in a critical environmental sector.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Acquire hands-on experience in a dynamic wastewater environment.
  • Work directly under the guidance of an experienced full-time employee (FTE), facilitating direct learning and mentorship.
  • Focus on learning and gaining exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures within the wastewater industry.
  • Engage in a variety of tasks including laboratory work, technical operations, maintenance activities, and groundskeeping essential for the efficient operation of a wastewater treatment facility.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, contributing to daily tasks and projects.

Work Environment:
Internship environments are diverse, ranging from office settings to field operations and plant facilities, depending on the specific function. Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Candidates must be rising seniors in high school or enrolled in Tech Schools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, encompassing written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build collaborative relationships within a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and comfortably in a wastewater environment.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, ensuring efficient task completion.
  • Willingness to work diligently under the guidance of an experienced FTE, embracing mentorship.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential for success in this role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift objects weighing approximately 30-35 lbs.

  • Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour.
