Warehouse/Inventory Coordinator Summer Intern | Digi Security Systems

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Digi Security Systems, located in Oklahoma City, OK, near the OKC airport. Digi Security Systems is an industry leader in designing, installing, and supporting custom video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection, and fire solutions for companies of all sizes. This critical role serves as the operational backbone of the company, ensuring field technicians have the precise materials and equipment needed to execute projects and service calls without delay. The TL;DR

• Mission: Ensure all materials, equipment, and parts are received, organized, kitted, and accounted for to support field technicians in executing projects and service calls efficiently.
• Tech Stack: Connectwise Manage (a plus), Microsoft Office Suite, inventory management software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Preparation: Kit and prepare items for projects and service calls, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for field technicians.
• Order and Tracking: Order parts as needed, track their receipt meticulously, and confirm all items are accounted for within inventory.
• Documentation and Reporting: Generate and analyze purchase orders (POs), receipts, and comprehensive reports detailing inventory levels, stock movements, and any discrepancies.
• Operational Support: Manage the distribution of PPE, hardware, and software licenses to technicians and partners, and assist with Box Sales and generate related POs.
• Quality Assurance and RMAs: Conduct regular quality checks on both incoming and existing inventory to ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate, track, and ship project and service RMA equipment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student (High school diploma or equivalent required). Core domain knowledge in warehouse operations and inventory management is essential for success in this role.
• Experience: At least 1-3 years of proven experience in inventory management. Preference will be given to candidates with specific experience working for a company in the commercial construction, low-voltage, or electrical industries.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, and adept with strong typing and professional communication skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience with Connectwise Manage, forklift certification, and flexibility to adjust work schedules for weekends and nights on an as-needed basis.
