The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York or Chicago, focused on the private equity GP stakes strategy within Apogem Capital. Apogem is a leading private markets solutions provider with significant assets under management, operating within the New York Life Investment Management platform. This role is critical for driving capital formation and maintaining investor relationships for the RidgeLake Partners GP stakes strategy, requiring a commercial and analytically strong professional.

• Team: Reports to the Managing Director on the PE GP Stakes team, working closely with Apogem’s central IR, Distribution, and Marketing functions.
• Mission: Own investor relations, capital formation, and portfolio monitoring for the PE GP Stakes strategy.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Investor Relations: Prepare and manage investor-facing materials, data requests, and updates for capital formation, working with internal and external teams.
• GP Services: Advise partner General Partners on investor relations, fundraising strategy, and infrastructure to enhance capital formation.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain a global prospect pipeline, coordinate investor meetings, and represent the firm at industry events to foster relationships.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Coordinate quarterly investor letters, maintain portfolio KPIs and dashboards, and assist with platform and fund-level performance reviews.
• Transaction Support: Contribute to capital planning, portfolio construction, cash flow forecasting, and support financial diligence for partner firms and new transactions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Vice President level professional with core domain knowledge in investor relations, fundraising, capital formation, or private markets advisory.
• Experience: 7 to 12 years of experience at a private equity firm, GP stakes investor, placement agent, fund-of-funds, or asset management IR team, with direct experience in fundraising, investor diligence, DDQs, data rooms, and LP communications.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for developing polished investor-facing materials, a commercial mindset for relationship building, and a working understanding of GP business models and institutional investor decision-making.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to valuation, financial diligence, or IC-level analysis; familiarity with GP stakes or minority-investing structures; experience with portfolio monitoring tools, CRM platforms, or data room administration.
