The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Grainger, located in Lake Forest, IL, combining remote work with office presence. • Pay: $75000 yearly
• Team: Reports to a Finance/Accounting leader with support from a Senior professional, peer mentor, and Leadership mentor.
• Mission: Develop financial, analytical, digital, and end-to-end thinking skills through a three-year rotational program to become a successful finance professional.
• Tech Stack: PowerBI, SQL coding, R, Python, SAP ERP, financial planning software, Excel, AI technology and tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Engage in a comprehensive onboarding program, development sessions, and structured technical trainings.
• Decision Influence: Gain direct experience influencing decisions within multiple divisions of Grainger.
• Skill Development: Learn, develop, and utilize technical skills with visualization tools, SQL coding, R, or Python.
• Technology Application: Leverage AI technology and tools to drive continuous improvement and productivity.
• Rotational Learning: Acquire hands-on experience and learning across various areas of Grainger’s finance organization through three 1-year rotations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business or STEM-related discipline, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience: Expected graduation by January 2027, but no sooner than 2 years prior, or completed an undergraduate degree in the above areas with 1–2 years of related work experience. No visa sponsorships required now or in the future.
• Skills: Analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to summarize data, reach logical conclusions, evaluate, and improve processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills with comfortability to collaborate with all levels. Proven problem-solving capabilities.
• Bonus: Working knowledge and/or experience with AI tools and automation. Ability to work in an evolving environment adapting agile methodology and principles. Continuous improvement-mindset through processes and technology. Experience with Excel, various data structures, and the ability to create ad-hoc databases for financial modeling.
