Job Description:

Greywolf Veterinary Hospital is offering an externship opportunity for veterinary students. Students will work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine. This includes:

• Gathering patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Creating treatment plans
• Performing diagnostics
• Providing dentistry services
• Observing, assisting with, or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients

A unique aspect of the externship involves working with USFWS and NOAA cases, offering the opportunity to learn about and treat unique animal populations.

In addition to clinical skills, externs will also develop their communication skills by interacting with the medical team, support staff, and clients. This includes training on veterinary software, managing health care plans, and working in the on-site pharmacy.

Externship Details:

Duration: Typically ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
Eligibility: Open to all veterinary students, regardless of class year.
Stipend: Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
