Hidden Valley Animal Hospital is a four-doctor general practice located in Independence, MO. They offer general practice services, urgent care appointments, boarding, and grooming with a team of five groomers.
Job Description:
This externship opportunity at Hidden Valley Animal Hospital is designed for veterinary students in their final clinical year. As an extern, you will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain practical experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine. Your responsibilities will include:
• Gathering patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Creating treatment plans
• Performing diagnostics
• Assisting with dentistry services
• Observing, assisting in, or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients
In addition to honing your clinical skills, you’ll have the opportunity to practice and develop your communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
