Job Description: Veterinary Technician Extern
Bethany Family Pet Clinic is offering an externship opportunity for a Veterinary Technician Student. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited Vet Tech program and allows them to gain practical experience in a professional veterinary setting.
As a Veterinary Technician Extern, you will support clinical operations by assisting with patient care, performing routine technical tasks, and observing advanced medical procedures under the supervision of credentialed veterinary technicians and veterinarians. This includes:
• Assisting with clinical procedures.
• Observing and participating in the care of a variety of medical cases.
• Supporting daily clinical operations such as patient intake, treatment, and discharge.
• Collaborating with the veterinary team.
• Following clinical protocols and safety procedures.
• Participating in mentorship and training sessions.
• Completing assigned tasks as outlined by the supervising technician or hospital manager.
