The Tone:
This is an internship at WSO, located remotely. Wall Street Oasis is the largest career community focused on finance careers, serving over 1 million registered members and receiving 20 million annual visits. This highly selective, off-cycle virtual internship is designed to help top students build a stronger venture capital resume and develop real venture-style research skills, preparing them for the competitive VC landscape. Strong interns will have their profiles shared with WSO’s network of partner organizations for potential placement opportunities.

• Team: WSO Global Talent Program, collaborating with micro-VC funds, emerging managers, venture studios, accelerators/incubators, and angel syndicates.
• Mission: To equip top students with core venture investing skills and practical experience, facilitating their entry into the venture capital ecosystem.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Master core venture investing skills, including VC fund structures, economics, venture roles, sourcing workflows, and key financial instruments like SAFEs and convertible notes.
• Develop expertise in preferred equity, term sheets (control and economics), and cap table modeling basics, critical for understanding startup investments.
• Learn startup diligence fundamentals across market, product, team, and traction, culminating in the ability to write comprehensive investment memos and understand exit dynamics.
• Support WSO’s partner network by contributing to deal flow, sourcing initiatives, market mapping, and thesis research to identify promising startups.
• Conduct competitive landscape research, startup evaluations, and create deal memos, alongside providing diligence support and investment committee-prep style briefs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career students, including freshmen and sophomores, who are exploring venture capital, startups, growth equity, or broader investing fields.
• Experience: No prior venture capital experience is required; successful performance in assessments and training is the primary qualification.
• Skills: Strong Research abilities, Analytical Thinking, Clear Written Communication, Independent Work, and Quick Learning aptitude.
