The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Arrow Search Partners. The firm is a global investment entity managing over $65 billion in assets, employing sophisticated strategies that include syndicated leveraged loans, high yield bonds, asset-based leasing, and private equity to serve its clients. This Valuations Analyst position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the firm’s financial reporting and investment decision-making processes. The analyst will contribute directly to understanding and presenting the value of complex financial instruments within the firm’s diverse portfolio.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Onboarding: Onboard newly originated investments into the firm’s portfolio, collaborating closely with underwriting teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each transaction and its underlying financial implications.
• Valuation Analysis: Conduct thorough internal independent valuation analyses by meticulously incorporating and understanding detailed financial statements, complex transaction structures, relevant market data, and all other pertinent investment considerations.
• Monthly Valuations: Execute comprehensive monthly valuations of all illiquid securities within the firm’s portfolio, then meticulously prepare and present the resulting analysis and insights to the dedicated valuation committee.
• Financial Modeling: Create, develop, and consistently maintain sophisticated financial models designed to accurately track the ongoing performance of investments and support informed decision-making.
• Portfolio Review Support: Assist in the detailed preparation of quarterly portfolio review materials, compiling essential data and insights for presentation to portfolio managers to aid in strategic portfolio oversight.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a foundational discipline such as finance, economics, or accounting, demonstrating a strong academic grounding crucial for financial analysis. This role is suited for an early career professional.
• Experience: Requires 1 to 3 years of direct experience acquired within financial consulting or a reputable public accounting firm. Essential experience includes prior involvement with either debt or equity valuation methodologies and practices.
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of debt instruments, including their structures, mechanics, and valuation principles. Proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data are also key.
• Bonus: Prior knowledge or practical experience with industry-standard financial data platforms such as Capital IQ or FactSet is considered a valuable advantage for this role.
