This role contributes to the Valence project by developing an Android application designed to guide collection vehicles, ensuring efficient data refreshing for critical routes.

• Mission: Develop an Android application to facilitate the collection of spatial data by guiding collection vehicles.
• Tech Stack: Java, Kotlin, Android development, Git workflows, CI pipelines, HERE’s Navigate SDK, Cameras, LiDAR, GPS, storage systems, Nucleus service

What You’ll Actually Do
• Feature Development: Implement new feature requests and address bug fixes for the Valence Android application.
• Test Creation: Add and update unit tests for new logic to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Build Management: Ensure that local and Continuous Integration (CI) builds pass successfully.
• Documentation: Thoroughly document all code changes and project contributions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD) with a strong foundation in Android development.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in Android development, covering both front-end UI design and back-end logic implementation. Familiarity with testing methodologies, CI pipelines, and Git workflows.
• Skills: Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android development, testing methodologies, and Git workflows.
