This role involves locating underground utilities, troubleshooting, and marking the ground with paint and flags to prevent damage in the community. Key Responsibilities (Training Provided)

As an entry-level Locating Technician, you will be trained to:

• Prioritize safety in all tasks.
• Utilize a laptop computer for receiving, documenting, and processing tickets and emails.
• Interpret maps and blueprints to determine the most effective method and sequence for locating utilities.
• Operate provided locate equipment and technology to accurately identify underground utilities.
• Maintain effective communication with peers, managers, and homeowners.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day, 2-3 times a week.
• Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs, or in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening.

Schedule

• Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends, and occasional Holidays, depending on ticket and production load.
• Employees will be required to respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shift rotations.
