Utility Locator (Field Technician) | Stake Center Locating

This is an entry-level career opportunity at Stake Center Locating, serving communities by preventing damage to underground utilities. In this role, you will be crucial for public safety, accurately locating and marking buried infrastructure. We are looking for individuals who thrive on independent work outdoors and enjoy solving problems with precision.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety: Prioritize and practice safety in all operations while working in various field conditions.
• Documentation: Utilize a laptop computer for receiving, processing, and documenting locate tickets and managing email.
• Planning: Interpret maps and blueprints to determine the most effective method and sequence for utility locating.
• Locating: Operate provided locate equipment and technology to accurately identify and mark underground utilities.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with peers, managers, and homeowners regarding locate activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. This is an entry-level position with 100% paid on-the-job training provided.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with speed and accuracy, ability to interpret maps and blueprints, proficiency in operating locate equipment, and effective communication skills.
• Bonus: Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, and participate in scheduled on-call shift rotation.
