Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Stake Center Locating is actively seeking entry-level Locate Technicians to join their team. This role is crucial for promoting damage prevention within communities by accurately locating underground utilities, troubleshooting, and marking the ground using paint and flags.

Key Responsibilities (Training Provided)

Entry-level Locating Technicians will be trained to perform the following duties:

  • Safety First: Prioritize and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Ticket Management: Use a laptop computer to receive, document, and process tickets and emails.
  • Mapping & Planning: Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine optimal locating methods and sequences.
  • Equipment Usage: Accurately locate underground utilities using provided equipment and technology.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Eighteen years of age or older.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day, 2-3 times a week.
    • Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs independently or in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids.
  • Pre-employment Screening: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Schedule

The role requires a flexible schedule to accommodate ticket/production loads and emergency calls:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends, and occasional Holidays.
  • Employees will be required to respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shift rotations.
