Utility/Dishwasher | SSP America

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at SSP America, located in Ashburn, VA (In-person). In this Utility/Dishwasher position, you will play a crucial role in upholding these standards by ensuring our environments are clean and sanitized, contributing significantly to both guest satisfaction and team well-being.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time

• Pay: $20 hourly
• Mission: Maintain clean and sanitized environments for guests and the team to create a positive experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Environment Management: Create a positive guest experience by diligently cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas throughout the restaurant.
• Facility Upkeep: Ensure the pristine cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment, including floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas.
• Dishwashing and Service-ware Handling: Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans, wash them efficiently by hand or load them into the dishwasher, and properly return them to their designated storage locations.
• Logistics and Inventory Support: Load and unload supply trucks, transferring necessary items between storage and various work areas, and ensure all food items are correctly stocked, dated, rotated, and temperature-checked.
• Dining Area Support: Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings as needed, and transport all used service-ware to the kitchen for thorough cleaning.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 18 years old with a foundational understanding of food service operations and hygiene standards. Requires a valid food handler’s permit and brand certification as mandated by law.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 months’ experience actively working within a retail or food service environment.
• Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with guests and clear understanding of instructions. Demonstrated ability to address guest service problems, coupled with the physical capacity to stand and work efficiently in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Bonus: A high school diploma is preferred.
