User Research (UXR) Intern | LXN Photography

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at LXN Photography, located remotely. LXN Photography specializes in visual storytelling through event, portrait, and wedding photography, and is expanding its services to a wider range of clients and industries. This role is critical for identifying new opportunities, understanding customer needs, improving the website, developing new service offerings, and shaping marketing strategies to support the future growth of the business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• User Research: Conduct research on customer behaviors, motivations, and pain points to identify factors influencing photography purchasing decisions and assist in creating customer personas.
• Market Analysis: Analyze competitor websites, services, pricing, and marketing strategies while identifying industry trends and emerging opportunities in photography and events.
• Website & Content Strategy: Evaluate photography websites for user experience and usability, research content strategies, and recommend improvements for conversions and engagement based on customer pathways.
• SEO & Search Behavior: Conduct keyword and search trend research, identify opportunities for improved search visibility, and recommend blog topics and landing page content.
• Strategic Growth: Identify potential markets and customer segments, research opportunities for service expansion, and assist with long-term website and marketing planning.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or emerging professional interested in User Research, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Digital Strategy, Consumer Psychology, User Experience (UX), Communications, Creative Industries, or Photography & Events.
• Experience: Academic or market research experience. Interest in digital marketing and consumer behavior.
• Skills: Strong written communication skills, research and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, organizational skills, collaborative mindset, curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Google Workspace; experience with Notion, Airtable, Asana, or Trello; interest in photography, events, or creative services.
