Job Description: User Experience (UX) Designer Intern
This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
• Understand Users and Context: Interpret research insights to build a deep understanding of users and their context.
• Define Design Principles: Set clear user experience goals and design principles.
• Apply Human Factors: Leverage knowledge of psychological and physical attributes of humans (e.g. Hick’s Law, Fitt’s Law) in design decisions.
• Information Architecture: Design the architecture of the experience’s functions and information.
• Interaction Design: Design interaction patterns between functions/information and users/customers.
• Navigation Design: Design clear navigation pathways through the experience, demonstrating understanding of content, functions, and relationships within the system.
• User Context Planning: Support and plan for variation of user contexts (e.g. culture, environment, and activity).
• Human-Centered Solutions: Converge and translate technological, operational, and functional constraints into human-centered opportunities.
• Relational Design: Facilitate and design for relational aspects across every part of the experience.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience interpreting research insights and building understanding of users and context.
• Ability to define user experience goals and design principles.
• Applying knowledge of psychological and physical attributes of humans (e.g. Hick’s Law, Fitt’s Law).
• Designing the architecture of functions and information within an experience.
• Designing interaction patterns between functions/information and users/customers.
• Designing navigation pathways through an experience, demonstrating understanding of content, functions, and relationships within the system.
• Supporting and planning for variation of user contexts (e.g. culture, environment, and activity).
• Converging and translating technological, operational, and functional constraints into human-centered opportunities.
• Facilitating and designing for relational aspects across every part of the experience.
Preferred:
• Experience or familiarity with designing for accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with design systems.
• Degree in User Experience Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Architecture, or related field.
