The Walt Disney Company is the world’s largest licensor of intellectual property, encompassing iconic brands such as Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. They are seeking undergraduate placement students to contribute to the lifecycle of their licensed products.
Description:
This is an undergraduate placement scheme offering internships across various product portfolios including fashion, apparel, footwear, accessories, homeware, stationery, and creative operations. The role involves a crucial part in ensuring the diverse product portfolio resonates with fans and reflects the company’s storytelling perfection.
Responsibilities:
• Product Lifecycle Management: Gaining exposure to the entire lifecycle of licensed products, from concept to distribution.
• Product Showcase: Curating product catalogs and preparing compelling presentations showcasing Disney’s brands.
• Collaboration & Information Sharing: Working with internal teams to gather and share key information for successful product development.
• Licensee Engagement: Working with external licensees to ensure compliance with high standards.
• Visual Reporting & Strategy: Creating visual reports to inform future product strategies.
• Commercial & Creative Thinking Development: The internship will foster growth in commercial and creative thinking within the licensing and product development fields.
Specific tasks may include (but aren’t limited to): design work utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop), Keynote presentations, and various administrative duties. Further details about specific internship roles in Product Design will be provided later in the recruitment process.
Work Environment:
The role requires being onsite 4 days a week.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a second-year undergraduate student on an industrial placement year course, returning to study in Autumn 2026.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Available to start full-time work from June 2025.
• Strong interest in the chosen area of internship (demonstrated through studies, experiences, extracurricular activities, or general interest).
Desired Skills & Qualities:
• Strong curiosity and passion for design and/or product development.
• Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
• Professional and mature communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle administrative duties.
• Proficiency in Keynote and the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop – required for some roles).
• Demonstrated potential in building relationships, communicating effectively, driving results, thinking strategically, inspiring creativity and innovation, and exhibiting professional excellence.
