Job Description: Undergraduate Engineering Co-op
This co-op program offers students the chance to work on projects with significant strategic and operational importance to the business. Project assignments are tailored to student abilities and current business needs. Responsibilities may include:
• Partnering with leadership to identify and address areas for efficiency improvement and benchmarking against industry best practices.
• Becoming a process owner, critically reviewing processes, and proactively recommending improvements.
• Accurately using specialized equipment and instrumentation with limited supervision.
• Developing tools and models to enhance tracking and efficiency.
• Learning and applying continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., PPI, Six Sigma).
• Collaborating with various functions (program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, finance) to achieve business objectives.
Compensation & Relocation:
The co-op offers an hourly rate between $21.50 and $28.75, varying based on location and cost of living. A $5,000 relocation stipend is available for students living 50+ miles from the co-op location.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate student pursuing an Engineering-related degree.
• 0 years of work experience required; previous internships are preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Ability to champion change, achieve results, and navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required. Thermo Fisher does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.
