Transportation Coordinator | Tampa International Forest Products, LLC

• Team: Supports the transportation team, reporting to an experienced Truck Transportation Coordinator.
• Mission: Learns and applies internal transportation processes, basic DOT/transportation compliance, and company systems to facilitate daily truckload coordination and documentation.
• Tech Stack: Transportation Management System (TMS), Princeton TMX, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Load Coordination & Tracking: Assist in creating, tendering, and diligently tracking truckloads within the Transportation Management System (TMS) under direct supervision, ensuring timely updates.
• Carrier & Driver Communication: Coordinate effectively with carriers and drivers to confirm equipment availability, schedule pickup and delivery appointments, and relay estimated times of arrival and all required shipment details.
• Shipment Documentation: Prepare and distribute essential transportation documents, including rate confirmations, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and Proofs of Delivery (PODs), while assisting with document collection, scanning, filing, and auditing for completeness.
• Carrier Support & Compliance: Support carrier setup and onboarding by collecting necessary documents and maintaining accurate carrier files, while learning and adhering to company policies and DOT/transportation compliance requirements for load execution.
• Service Issue Resolution: Help resolve service issues (e.g., late deliveries, damage) by gathering information, communicating updates to relevant parties, and escalating complex concerns to the coordinator or manager.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, customer service, or administrative support is preferred. Ability to learn a Transportation Management System (TMS) and standard dispatch processes.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Outlook, strong data-entry skills, basic math skills, effective time management, strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: Prior TMS experience (Princeton TMX or similar) is a plus. Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements is a plus.
