About the Role

United Community Bank is seeking a dedicated and dynamic full-time Travel Universal Banker to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering financial wellness across our branch network. This position requires cross-training in both teller and platform responsibilities, offering a diverse and engaging work environment.

As a Travel Universal Banker, you will go beyond everyday transactions. You will engage in needs-based conversations, identify appropriate financial solutions, and assist with customer resolution, playing a key role in strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones.

The Traveling Universal Banker is unique in its requirement for daily travel to different branches within a specific designated market area. This position requires up to 100% travel within this area, offering a dynamic and varied work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer experiences for both existing customers and prospective clients.
  • Serve as a versatile resource, performing both teller and platform duties at various branch locations.
  • Assist customers with everyday transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Engage in needs-based conversations to identify customer financial goals and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Provide support for customer resolution, addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of retail bank products and services, including consumer loans (excluding real-estate loans), IRAs, Certificates of Deposit, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Actively promote, explain, open, and renew (where applicable) financial institution services.
  • Drive proactive needs-based sales conversations through various interactions, including service-to-sales opportunities, teller interactions, and appointment setting.
  • Assist customers with loan products, ensuring all packages are complete and correct to minimize exceptions.
  • Perform typical paying and receiving teller transactions, such as receiving checks for deposit, verifying amounts, examining endorsements, cashing checks, and processing withdrawals.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds as needed.
  • Perform daily balancing of your cash drawer with precision.
  • Educate customers on various options for managing transactions, leveraging technology and all available tools and resources.
  • Apply comprehensive product and service knowledge to effectively resolve customer problems.
  • Collaborate with other staff, assisting with customer service, answering telephones, and performing other duties as required to support branch operations.

Requirements To Be Successful As a Travel Universal Banker

  • NMLS License is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail sales experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a financial institution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate frequent travel to different branches within the designated market area.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer credit structuring and lending practices.
  • Demonstrated analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies.
