The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital, a new comprehensive acute care facility expanding Orlando Health’s commitment to the Seminole County community. Orlando Health provides a full scope of medical and surgical services, from cardiovascular and orthopedics to women’s services and a future NICU. This role is essential for delivering timely, safe, and compassionate transportation services that support overall patient care and hospital operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Transportation: Safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the hospital, assessing the appropriate mode and assisting with transfers.
• Patient Care Support: Communicate essential patient information to team members and assist with the respectful transport of deceased persons according to procedures.
• Operational Logistics: Transport medications, charts, specimens, supplies, and equipment, upholding strict confidentiality standards.
• Equipment Management: Distribute, retrieve, clean, and disinfect transportation and medical equipment, ensuring proper storage and return to designated areas.
• Technology Application: Utilize Epic Transportation Dispatching, Bed Tracking, Service Response, and Outlook Email, adhering to patient identification protocols.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Others. Ability to read, understand, and write simple correspondence, coupled with the capacity to learn and effectively use department-specific computer systems.
• Experience: Not explicitly stated, however, the role requires the completion of all mandatory education and training.
• Skills: BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification (required within 90 days of hire), adherence to patient identification protocols (Independent Double Verification, wristband scanning), and strict compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
