Transportation Internship Job Description:
Lowe’s 2025 Summer Internship Program offers a paid, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in the Transportation department. The internship runs from May 27th to August 1st and may lead to a full-time Transportation Sr Specialist role upon successful completion and fulfillment of educational requirements. Qualified interns are eligible for Lowe’s housing benefits.
The Lowe’s Transportation team ensures the efficient, timely, and safe flow of product throughout the Supply Chain. Interns will collaborate with vendors, distribution centers, and carriers to develop and execute transportation solutions.
Areas of Learning and Responsibilities:
• Evaluate existing transportation resources and materials on LowesNet, proposing updates and presenting recommendations for changes to transportation directors and VPs.
• Analyze deliveries to Lowe’s stores from various sources, developing strategies to synchronize deliveries and presenting recommendations to Transportation Directors and VPs.
• Contribute to the development of cost reduction or service improvement programs for parcel transportation through analysis, project participation, and support.
• Analyze customer feedback (Likely To Recommend) for parcel and LTL deliveries, identifying areas for improvement.
• Identify performance trends and assist in implementing solutions to improve supply chain and transportation efficiency, reducing inefficiencies and waste.
• Interact with transportation providers, stores, vendors, Lowe’s Supply Chain, Lowes.com, merchandising, procurement, and distribution teams.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Operations Management from an accredited university, with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, data gathering, and reporting skills.
• Excellent collaborative, innovative, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Relevant internship and/or leadership experience (a plus).
