Trade Compliance Manager | Ericsson

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Ericsson, located in Plano, Texas. Ericsson is actively shaping the future of enterprise connectivity by building a differentiated enterprise networking and security portfolio within Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions (BEWS). This role is critical for an experienced trade compliance professional to manage import and export compliance activities, advising stakeholders and strengthening processes to ensure that all operations meet U.S. and international regulatory requirements while supporting business growth and a strong culture of compliance for a global supply chain.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Oversight: Lead and support trade compliance activities across U.S. import operations and broader international import/export transactions.
• Stakeholder Guidance: Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on customs, import, export, classification, country of origin, free trade agreement, and related trade compliance matters.
• Classification Management: Manage and maintain product classifications, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) determinations.
• Transaction Assurance: Partner with suppliers, brokers, logistics providers, and internal teams to help ensure accurate and compliant cross-border transactions.
• Issue Resolution: Monitor imports, identify shipment or customs-related issues, and drive timely resolution to minimize delays and business disruption.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager career level with a Bachelor’s degree in international trade, logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs procedures, and global trade compliance requirements.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, import/export operations, or a related field, with hands-on experience in HTS classification and a solid understanding of ECCN classification and export control requirements. Experience managing import operations across air, ocean, and ground transportation is also required.
• Skills: Ability to interpret regulations, assess risk, and translate requirements into practical business guidance; strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and advanced Excel skills with strong overall Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Bonus: Valid U.S. Customs Broker License (or the ability to obtain one); experience working with ERP and trade systems such as SAP, SAP GTS, or similar platforms; experience with process automation, Power BI, or Power Automate; and experience in high-tech, telecom, electronics, or similarly regulated industries, with particular familiarity in USMCA rules of origin preferred.
