This role is essential for developing professional competencies in Therapeutic Recreation and preparing interns to become compassionate, creative, and confident Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. • Mission: Provide a dynamic, experiential learning experience that supports the development of professional competencies in Therapeutic Recreation for individuals on the autism spectrum.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Plan: Plan and implement therapeutic recreation interventions and activities.
• Document: Maintain documentation including activity reports, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Communicate: Communicate effectively with participants and interdisciplinary staff.
• Attend: Attend staff meetings, relevant training sessions, and reflection sessions.
• Participate: Participate in data collection and program evaluation where applicable.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, enrolled in a Therapeutic Recreation degree program from an accredited university.
• Experience: Eligible to complete a minimum 560-hour, 14-week internship for academic credit as required by the NCTRC; must be 18 years of age or older.
• Skills: Current, valid CPR/First Aid certificate required prior to start date.
