The Tone:
This is a full-time role at KPMG, a leading global professional services firm, located in Switzerland (Zurich). This position within Deal Advisory’s Tech CoE is critical for guiding clients through complex technology aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. The Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager translates intricate technology topics into tangible business value, strategic implications, and operational realities, directly influencing critical transaction decisions and ensuring successful deal outcomes.

• Mission: Own and lead technology M&A workstreams to guide clients through transaction decisions and identify value creation opportunities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Technology M&A Workstreams: Lead critical technology M&A workstreams throughout due diligence, integration, and separation projects, guiding clients through complex transaction decisions and translating technical insights into tangible business value.
• Conduct Technology Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments of technology capabilities, operating models, applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and IT cost structures to identify inherent risks and significant value creation opportunities.
• Develop Transaction Reports: Develop and quality-review detailed technology due diligence reports, clearly highlighting identified risks, key value drivers, and their strategic, operational, and financial implications for deal decisions.
• Strategize Integration & Separation: Support the strategic design and execution of technology integration and separation strategies, including Day 1 readiness planning, Transitional Service Agreement (TSA) development, and target operating model definition.
• Manage Stakeholders & Teams: Coordinate client and cross-functional teams, manage project deliverables and timelines effectively, present findings to senior stakeholders, and coach junior colleagues to foster their professional development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, Information systems, or a closely related field, suitable for a Senior Consultant or Assistant Manager position within a specialized advisory context.
• Experience: Possess three to five years of dedicated experience in Technology M&A, technology strategy, IT due diligence, integration, separation, or other related transaction advisory services; demonstrate proven capability in independently managing workstreams, effectively engaging senior stakeholders, and consistently delivering high-quality technology due diligence, integration, or separation projects.
• Skills: Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to clearly connect complex technology topics to commercial and operational outcomes; possess confident project management and communication skills, essential for working with senior stakeholders and coaching junior colleagues; demonstrate advanced proficiency in both German and English.
• Bonus: Proficiency in French or Italian languages is considered an advantage for client engagements.
