Job Description: Technology Assurance Audit Intern
KPMG is seeking a Technology Assurance Audit Intern to join its Audit Services team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of IT auditing.
Responsibilities:
• Learn to create clear and well-organized documentation detailing the understanding of client processes and IT systems.
• Under supervision, perform and document testing of clients’ IT controls using established standards and terminology.
• Collaborate with the audit engagement team to leverage Data and Analytics (D&A) in the audit process, including data extraction and analysis. This involves utilizing a range of technologies and tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Power BI to conduct substantive IT audit procedures and prepare related documentation.
• Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations to team members.
• Under guidance, utilize technology, systems, tools, and innovative approaches to support engagement activities.
• Learn and adapt to new and emerging technologies, exploring opportunities for intelligent automation.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or a related field. An Information Systems degree with an Accounting double major is preferred.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have remaining academic credits to fulfill degree requirements and/or CPA eligibility.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• General understanding of business systems, technology, and data analysis tools.
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday) is preferred but not required.
• Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to quality service.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to work effectively as a team member; leadership experience is a plus; demonstrated project management skills are also beneficial.
• Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to the office and have reliable transportation.
• Technology Assurance professionals are expected to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site an average of three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office).
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. (No visa sponsorship is available).
