A Day in the Life of a Technician at First Onsite
At First Onsite, the role of a Technician is dynamic and impactful, ensuring no two days are ever the same. You’ll be instrumental in helping businesses recover and communities rebuild after emergencies and disasters. This hands-on position offers invaluable experience with a diverse range of tools and equipment, immersing you in the critical fields of emergency restoration and disaster recovery.
Every project presents a unique challenge, from assisting a business to quickly resume operations to tackling extensive demolition tasks. You will work alongside a supportive and skilled team, ensuring that every job is completed efficiently and effectively.
Safety is paramount. You will consistently adhere to established safety programs and industry standards, protecting yourself and your team. The work environment is fast-paced, physically demanding, and immensely rewarding, offering the profound satisfaction of making a tangible difference for individuals and businesses in their greatest times of need.
While basic computer skills are essential for tracking project updates, you will quickly develop proficiency with industry-specific tools and technology relevant to emergency restoration.
Responsibilities
- Assist with various mitigation efforts, including water, fire, and mold damage, as well as light demolition tasks and equipment setup.
- Ensure company vehicles are consistently clean, well-stocked, and ready for immediate response.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment at all job sites.
- Support comprehensive project documentation, including taking photos and compiling daily reports.
- Track expenses, manage time efficiently, and complete all necessary work orders.
- Perform physical labor, including debris removal and careful material handling.
- Provide flexible support across various service lines offered by First Onsite.
Experience & Education Requirements
- Ability to obtain Water Mitigation Certification within one year of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior restoration experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- A valid driver’s license is essential for this role.
Salary
The salary for this position ranges from $15 to $20 per hour.
