About the Teaching Internship Program
This teaching internship program offers university students a valuable opportunity to experience life in the classroom and gain insight into the teaching profession. It’s designed for those interested in teaching, currently in their second, third, or final year of an undergraduate degree, or pursuing a master’s degree.
The internship aims to help you decide if you wish to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and train to teach in England after its completion.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 3 weeks
- Start Dates: June or July
- Payment: £455 per week
Key Experiences You’ll Gain:
- Shadow experienced teachers and observe real lessons.
- Collaborate on planning and jointly teach lessons.
- Receive personalized one-to-one guidance from outstanding classroom teachers and subject specialists.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of school life for a teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.

Who Can Apply?
- You must be a university student in your second, third, or final year of an undergraduate degree, or studying towards a master’s degree.
- You should be interested in teaching one of the following subjects:
- Chemistry
- Computing
- Design and Technology
- Languages
- Maths
- Physics
- Non-UK Citizens: You must be studying for an undergraduate or master’s degree and, if successful, possess the right to work in the UK from the internship start date.
If you’re interested in teaching a different subject, you can still seek out other school experience opportunities to learn what it’s like in a classroom.
