Tax Intern | PP&Co

The Tax Intern will play a direct part in assisting with client tax filings and meaningful projects, gaining practical experience across compliance, planning, and advisory, thereby making a real impact on client success and the firm’s operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Assist diligently in the preparation of various tax returns, including 1040 (individual) and 1041 (fiduciary) forms, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurately compiled.
• Tax Regulation Research: Conduct comprehensive research on pertinent tax regulations and laws, providing support in the interpretation and application of these regulations to specific client situations and inquiries.
• Compliance Support: Contribute to the tax team’s efforts in maintaining strict compliance standards, helping clients navigate complex tax requirements and ensuring accurate submissions.
• Tax Planning Assistance: Support tax professionals in developing and implementing effective tax planning strategies, providing insights and data to help clients optimize their financial outcomes.
• Project Coordination: Work on meaningful projects related to various aspects of taxation, including advisory services, and assist with general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the tax department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Taxation, with a solid foundational understanding of core accounting principles and relevant tax regulations.
• Experience: Demonstrated availability to commit to working a minimum of 25 hours per week during the specific internship duration from January to April.
• Skills: Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel and Word, alongside competence in Adobe PDF. The role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, strong attention to detail for managing multiple tasks, and effective communication skills combined with a proactive attitude.
• Bonus: Prior coursework specifically focused on taxation is highly valued and will be considered a significant advantage.
