Tax Intern | KPMG US

The Tone:
This is a temporary, seasonal internship at KPMG US, located in Multiple Locations. What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Tasks: Perform tax-related tasks, including compliance, advising, and planning for a variety of clients in different industries, including multistate and multinational enterprises.
• Data and Returns: Participate in data analytics assignments using KPMG technology, create tax return work papers, and prepare tax returns for clients.
• Due Diligence: Perform tax due diligence to identify tax exposures and opportunities.
• Client Advisory: Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advising, planning, and controversies.
• Strategic Consulting: Help advise multinational enterprises on business and tax planning decisions, such as where to locate and operate and how to access and mobilize capital.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial or systems), or an equivalent program.
• Experience: Completion of at least one college-level accounting course is required. Candidates must be pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business and have additional academic credits to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements after the internship.
• Skills: Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills. Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI, and proficiency in MS Office Applications. Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills are essential.
• Bonus: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above. Coursework or a minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
