Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Mobility Services
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its Global Mobility Services practice. This role involves supporting tax professionals in providing tax compliance and advisory services to multinational companies and their mobile employees. Specific responsibilities include:
• Supporting Global Mobility Services professionals: Assisting with tax compliance and advisory services for multinational companies and their employees working internationally or domestically (state-to-state business travel).
• Collaboration with internal and external teams: Working with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals and the tax and human resource professionals within client companies to manage the tax implications of global workforces.
• Client correspondence and calculations: Preparing client communications and calculations related to international assignments, encompassing policy matters, cost projections, tax settlements, and reconciliations.
• Analysis of assignment-related issues: Analyzing and tracking expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related aspects.
• Reporting and data analysis: Preparing reports, analyzing data, and tracking global mobility tax compliance and other project-related data.
• Technology utilization: Developing skills in key technologies utilized in client service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree. Upon internship completion, additional academic credits must remain to be completed before degree attainment and/or CPA eligibility requirements are met.
• GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework: Preferred coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: Knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax is preferred. Foreign language skills are also a plus.
• Skills: Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; adaptability; teamwork skills; resourcefulness.
• Location & Travel: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation. Travel to client premises may be required, potentially with short notice.
• Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
