What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare accurate tax returns and tax extensions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and timely submission for clients.
• Information Organization: Organize and maintain comprehensive tax information for individuals and businesses, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for efficient processing.
• Examination Assistance: Assist senior team members in responding to tax notices and preparing documentation for tax examinations, learning the processes involved in resolving inquiries.
• Software Proficiency: Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the specific tax preparation software utilized within the office, ensuring proficiency for all assigned tasks.
• Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks to support the tax team and overall office operations, contributing to a smooth and organized workflow as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be a junior or year prior to graduation (dependent on 4- or 5-year program). Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Experience: Completed at least one tax class.
• Skills: Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Detail-oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Participant in the VITA Program. Flexibility to work a minimum of 25 hours each week and weekends as needed.
